Polycarbonate Sheeting
Polycarbonate
1000; natural (clear, translucent)
Non UV
stabilised polycarbonate stock shapes is an advanced engineered and reinforced polycarbonate, often found under the trade name PC 1000 (virgin grade) - manufactured by Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products. It is a natural, "non-optical" industrial quality (clear and translucent). PC 1000 has a 145°C heat resistant temperature and resists acidic and watery substances alike. PC 1000 also benefits from good electrical conduction properties, making it extremely useful in electronic applications.
Polycarbonate
Characteristics
- High
mechanical strength
- Good
creep resistance
- Very
high impact strength, even at low temperatures
- Stiffness
retention over a wide range of temperatures
- Very
good dimensional stability (very low water absorption
and low coefficient of linear thermal expansion)
- Physiologically
inert (suitable for food contact)
- Higher temperature resistance than acrylic and offers greater impact strength.
Applications
Components for precision engineering, insulating parts for electrical engineering, components for medical and pharmaceutical devices. Polycarbonate proves a useful sheet material for safety glazing applications, providing strength and shatter resistance over glass.
