Edge Finish: Chamfered Edge, Beveled Edge, Radius Corners
Our highly skilled fabricators have the expertise and equipment to provide machined or manual edge finishing for a professional finish.
The edge finishing on offer ranges from chamfers & radius', to more complex ovolos, ogees and more.
Chamfered Edge / Beveled Edges
A chamfer is a beveled edge connecting two surfaces. If the surfaces are at right angles, the chamfer will typically be symmetrical at 45 degrees.
A rounding of an exterior corner is called a "round" or a "radius".
A gradual thinning or narrowing of material towards one end.
Mitre / Mitre Joint
A mitre joint, sometimes shortened to mitre, is a joint made by beveling each of two parts to be joined, usually at a 45 angle, to form a corner, usually a 90 angle.
An ogee is a curve (often used in molding), shaped somewhat like an S, consisting of two arcs that curve in opposite senses, so that the ends are parallel.
