The plastics that can be cut on a laser cutting machine vary depending on the company machining. This mostly depends on the extraction available for this machine as some plastics give off toxic fumes when laser cut.
Plastics that can be laser cut are:
- ABS
- Acrylic
- Delrin
- HDPE (Melts Badly)
- Nylon (Melts Badly)
- PETG
- Polyethylene (Melts Badly)
- Polypropylene (Melts Somewhat)
- Styrene (HIPS)
Plastics that are not recommended to be laser cut are:
- Polycarbonate (Lexan, PalsunPlus)
- PVC (Contains Chlorine)
- Carbon Fibre Products
