Ferrotron
Ferrotron®
559 (Metallic Polymer Alloy)
Ferrotron
is a non-conductive magnetic material consisting of
pure iron powder uniformly dispersed in an insulating
plastic binder. The small iron particles form very small
paths which, coupled with the insulating properties
of the binder, result in high permeability low hysteresis
losses and temperature resistance up to 300°C.
Ferrotron
is a metallic / polymeric alloy of a very pure iron
and high performance organics binders. it is easily
machined - filed, sawn, milled, drilled, tapped, tuned
or ground to your finished design without cracking or
chipping. This combination of properties makes 'Ferrotron'
an ideal intensifying material for induction hardening,
particularly of 'difficult' parts, such as gear wheels,
ball grooves and dovetailed slides. Reductions in heating
time of up to 600% can be obtained with Ferrotron inserts.
Ferrotron is supplied in round and square sections in
a range of diameters and lengths.
